This VWR Modular Heating Block for Conical-Bottom Centrury Tubes is designed for use with various glass or plastic conical-bottom centrifuge tubes. The heating elements utilize resistance elements that provide a uniform temperature across the tube. The tapered bottom of the heating element allows centrifugation to occur without splashing. A Teflon coating on the heating element withstands acids, alkalies, and most organic solvents. The coating is not only durable; it also prevents reactions between sample and tubing. When in use, the heating element stays cool to the touch but hot enough to transfer heat to the surrounding environment. Use the heating element with spacers to accommodate two tubes simultaneously.
