Suitable for certification for use as a primary reference standard when determining the specific gravity of petroleum products. Ideal for use with a small amount of sample. Approximate length: 195mm. Accuracy: ±1 scale division. The thermometer scale, from 10 to 130°F with 2°F subdivisions, is in the body. API Degrees = 141.5/(Specific Gravity at 60°/60°F) - 131.5.

Specific gravity at 60°/60°F is the ratio of the density of liquids at 60°F to the density of air-free distilled water at 60°F, with the water having a density of 1kg/L.

A certificate is provided to indicate instrument traceability to standards provided by the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
