Designed for metalworking applications, these stir bars feature a neodymium magnet with a plated finish and a hole to mount on magnetic stir bar holders. The size markings on the bars help to identify the type of metalworking process being performed. A magnet is placed on one edge of the bar and a ring magnet on the other end. The ring magnet acts like a suspended sphere in the liquid, so drops or blobs of any material will be absorbed in the magnet. Interrupted surfaces of the bar help to minimize the surface area in contact with the stirring surface. Interrupted surfaces also allow any leaks to be quickly expelled.
