The Franklin Magnetic Stirring Bars have a molded-on, octagon-shaped, Nitrile butadiene PTFE (Pete-Tac) handle. The smaller outside diameter of the bar increases its surface area and thus, its stirring power. The strength of the bar is increased by the magnetic force, which draws the magnet closer to the sample, concentrates the magnetic field, and shortens the stir event. A definite advantage to the Spinbar Magnetic Stirring Bars is that they create a small amount of dry rubbing force, which, in turn, causes the sample to mix more thoroughly and thoroughly.
