Product Category Description:

An ultra-thin borosilicate glass cover sheet provides the necessary chemical and mechanical protection for your slides. It is important that the cover glass for a slide be perfectly flat, without abrasions or scratches, and completely still. These characteristics make the VistaVision Cover Glass superior to all other known slides. The top surface of the slide is covered with an opaque reducing coating that provides the user with a slip without any objectional smudges or scratches, and is also permanently removed from the glass by a special salt-leaching process. This process leaves the transparency of the original slide visible. It must not be covered over or extended above the body of the slide, or else it is not a reliable slip. Since the cover glass is made of borosilicate glass, it is susceptible to scratching and should be covered over or extended.
