The contents of the room, including furniture, plants, and equipment, are often the best examples of how to illustrate a point. It is often necessary to use a high quality slide cover glass that will allow the unobstructed view of the specimen for the preparation of the slide, and which then becomes the cover slide. It is generally accepted that two or more cover glasses inserted in close proximity should prevent light penetration through the specimen to avoid scatter. The VistaVision cover glass series is suitable for universal use on all microscope slides for which a cover slip has been prepared. It consists of a heavy borosilicate glass sheet adhered to a glass plate with a frosted marking spot. The two-piece cover glass slides are regularly sized according to the marking spot, and are supplied with an explanatory triangle to allow easy recognition of the cover glass. It is manufactured in accordance with DIN ISO 8255-1. The heavy borosilicate glass cover glass slides are of the highest quality and precision-ground to ensure a perfect fit. They give a clear and sharp view of the sample. The frontal view covers are made of a tough borosilicate glass which provides high light transmission and maximum contrast. The heavy back reveals a zone of reflective mirrors which adds lustre to the specimen. The front and back of the cover glass are manufactured from optically pure borosilicate glass. The back side of the cover glass is routinely checked for uniformity in form and size distortion.
