These economical, easy-to-use test tubes are designed with large funnels and easily lighted flanges on the lower half of the tube. The funnels ensure that exhaust fumes vent upward and away from the user. The funnel covers and lays down the glass panes in a shallow dish thus preventing contamination of the viewing or mixing end by dust, dirt, or water. The small funnels at the larger funnel ends permit mixing directly on the benchtop or by infusing a colored dye to the water stream. The color of the glass is not affected by the dye lots. The funnels may be filled from outside the containment vessel with water to aid in filling small spaces. Tests have been made directly over the molded funnel a number of times. The long funnels at the bottom of each glass provide the observer with a clear funnel end from the outside in. Tests are easily performed with a spectrometer. Tests are performed in the standing half-way up through the funnel to the orifice. Samples may be ground for testing of catalysts or small molecules before use.
