Shallow form watch glasses are not deep-dished; have straight sides with slight ridges at the rims for outgassing. Watch glasses are supplied with flat flanged base discs to allow for varied curvitures of the perimeter. Flat bottoms admit large amounts of water for effective cooling without forming a dangerous accumulation of debris which could contaminate a liquid sample. The funnel-shaped indentation beneath the lower lip of each glass admits a small amount of water for effective mixing without contaminating the optical properties. The funnel-shaped indentation at the upper side of each glass helps prevent liquid from forming on the bottom of the watch. The stems are thicker on the smaller sizes allowing for excellent gas flow. Large lip diameters facilitate filling with water or dry powder. The all-glass construction is without a marking area. Graduations, graduations, and markings on each glass are clearly molded into the outside of the tube. Large, frosted writing scales are molded onto the side of each glass.
