The advantage of using FTA Plantsaver Activated Agar (wb120065 ) is that the media loading port is placed in the lizard case. This resulted in the lizard being able to draw more water into the column and thereby increase the total amount of sample that can be tested. Whatman FTA Plantsaver Cards may be used with any of the FTAA Plantsaver bags or inserts (either the square or rectangular type) using the slide valve or the whatman ez-clean system. The disadvantages include the addition of water and processing charges and the possible loss of valuable plant tissue. These cards do not provide the advantage of reusability of the material or the ability to accurately duplicate results.
