Whatman No. 5 Grade Filter Paper helps clarify mixtures containing abrasive or coarse particles which tend to float to the surface. Grading of Whatman No. 5 Paper Filter is excellent for precipitates and small ions from particulates which tend to float to the surface. The pore size of Whatman No. 5 Paper 5 is very small and recommended for use in small scale distillation operations where the filter paper will not absorb enough fluid to clog the Whatman No. 5 Filter. Whatman Grade No. 5 Whatman Paper is pure uncoated paper with no additives and is highly polished. Whatman Grade No. 5 Whatman Paper is the recommended paper for use with all preparatory steps in the distillation process.
