Filtered with unappetizing, but safe, Capillary Grade 454 paper. Because of its very porous nature, this paper can be used only once its final destination has been reached. After a sample has been placed on the paper, a vacuum is applied, and the paper is completely absorbed, eliminating all liquid droplets. Because the paper is supported by air, the sample stays in the same place, making it easy and safe to use. Because the paper is used up, Grade 454 paper becomes saturated with liquid which allows it to be used over and over again.
