With highly defined cellulose microfibers, this paper provides an exceptionally strong barrier to protect aqueous solutions from particulates, particularly particulates with sharp edges. The paper consistently adsorbs without allowing a liquid to migrate across the membrane. The unique "zero" void space underneath the paper allows gases and vapors to easily pass through. The resulting "passing" of a solution through the filter paper eliminates any surface abrasion or chemical change. This feature makes it an ideal filter for all liquid filtration media when the application does not require a superabsorbent material. Because the paper is highly breathable, the paper becomes less affected by the application of a superabsorbent material and provides a more open pathway to the sorbent surface.
