The degree of precision and sensitivity of these filters for submicron particulates enables them to be used as the final step in a wide variety of applications, including the collection, concentration, and analysis of submicron particulate, the concentration of extractable light elements in water, and the degree of extraction of light ions from gases, such as chlorine, bromine, and ammonia. Because of the unique filtration characteristics of Grade 454, these filters are used primarily in the qualitative analysis of subfractions of micron-sized particles.
