These natural rubber latex stoppers are excellent for use with infant formulas and other liquids for ingestion by a non-breathing patient. The soft rubber stopper is excellent for use in small droppers to prevent leakage of liquids during infusion. These stoppers have a soft, cotton center for complete comfort during infusion. After breaking the stopper, a paper clip keeps it closed so it will not leak. After the medication wears off, break open the stopper, and pass the needle through the center of the stopper without letting it flow out. Bleeding through the stopper causes the rubber to denature during use, creating a hazardous environment. Stoppers exhibit a plastid phase that develops when the color changes from green to yellow. This indicates to the stopper that it is time to be used. After use, the stopper must be withdrawn from the needle, and the rubber allowed to fall to the center of the stopper before it can be withdrawn.
