Easy to use. Depending on the receiver you use you may have to remove the dust cover. Run your drill real slow. After a few seconds rub a little more lapping compound on the lapping surface (check the receiver every time you do this). You can true th...

This tool is not square. It needs own "lapping" first. Steel material is rather soft and I doubt it can be used even a few times IF it is properly machined. Spend a little more and buy something else.

Lapping a receiver ensures a perfectly square and true surface for the barrel to mate against, thus enhancing accuracy. Upper receiver/barrel alignment is critical to accuracy. Also, honing the surface can produce optimal positioning of barrel nut so ideal torque can be achieved along with proper gas tube hole alignment. Use with a battery powered or electric drill to square the receiver face on an AR15. Precision alignment of AR15 barrel and upper receiver. Helps align the gas tube hole with the barrel nut holes.
