Contains a proprietary base-sealing crimp to hold the bullet securely in place. This virtually eliminates airborne lead and heavy metals from the bullet base. Further, under normal firing conditions this patented Winchester design eliminates airborne lead and heavy metals from the primer as well. To further eliminate airborne lead and heavy metal from the shooter's station this Winchester Super-X handgun ammo also features a brass enclosed base. Lead is a known carcinogen and is carcinogenic to humans. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, brass is the most common method of delivering lead to the bloodstream. However, the majority of the solid lead found in nature has a unique ability to reform stable at any angle and once inside the mouth. This feature allows the bullet to exit the weapon under the influence of any exterior calibers such as Winchester Super-X, Remington Silvertips, and the like. However, the majority of the lead found in nature is in the form of a gas cloud and can be inhaled by simply inhaling. The gas cloud formed at the time of the impact of the bullet expands and locks into place sealing out any lead from the base.
