If using flex-hose, choose one of the many types that are designed specifically for the movement of solid particles, i.e. dust, grains, and plastics.

How do I empty an overfilled bag system on the Shop Fox 3 HP Dust Collector System? Manufacturer Answer

Hello and thank you for your message.
Always empty the collection bags on a regular basis. Emptying the collection bags allows the machine to operate at a much higher level of efficiency. Always wear the appropriate respirator or dust mask and safety glasses when emptying the collection bags. Small dust particles can escape the bags during emptying, causing them to become airborne and easily inhaled. This microscopic airborne dust is extremely unhealthy to breathe and can cause serious health problems. Empty dust away from ignition sources and into an approved container. Turn the switch OFF, disconnect the dust collector from the power supply, and allow the impeller to come to a complete stop before leaving the machine unattended or doing any service, cleaning, maintenance, or adjustments.

The increased air suction capacity will allow you to build a bigger and more complex dust collection system with room to spare. Also, the double collection setup means less downtime emptying and shaking out bags, which means you'll be able to spend more time actually making the dust! CSA certified meeting CSA C22.2 #243-M91 and UL 1017-4th standards! For wood dust only. Models manufactured after June 2015 come with a 2.5 micron felt upper filtration and a plastic (PE) lower collection bag. The upper 2.5 micron bag (D4572) and lower plastic bags (D4573-5pk) can be purchased separately for any collectors that do not include them.image
