Worked very well right out of the box although I initially put the batteries in the wrong way. I use it for medical presentations to students. This is a great adjunct to my slideshow. The green shows up very well.

Product Info for Z-Bolt Class II Green Laser Pointer Presenter, 1mW

Class II 1mW Green Laser for UK, Australia, European Markets. The Z-Bolt® BTG-3 features FDA Safety Class II less than 1mW green laser power output. (Pointer carries proper FDA/CDRH yellow warning label). Pocket size (134mm) for easy carry - great for presentations, briefings, general use. The Z-Bolt® BTG-3 ships in a satin lined travel and carry case; 2 pcs AAA batteries; laser power output certificate included. The tube casing is jet black with silver accents and the diode features computerized APC circuitry.image

Special APC Circuit and IR Filter for Safety. The computerized APC diode drive circuit features "Automatic Power Control", and an IR filter is included for eye and office safety. The APC circuit is based on a photo diode feedback loop. The photo diode monitors the optical output and provides a control signal for the laser diode, helping to maintain the diode operation at a constant optical output level. The circuit adds to the lifetime of the laser, prevents overheating, and provides overall power output stability and efficiency.
