Ultraclavable, re-sealable lid and large volume water tank hold a large volume of water for rinsing and a large volume of water for observing. A powerful circulating pump pushes fresh water throughout the water column thereby reducing the need for water changes that often accompany routine lab procedures. The working environment is near that of a standard operating lab water bath, and the design allows for easy removal of the water. A splash guard is incorporated into the design of the lid to prevent water from running onto the work surface when not in use. Unit is easily cleaned in the normal fashion through the drain. The external formica is nearly the same as that of a conventional laboratory water bath reducing the possibility of water damage to delicate culture vessels. An oversized high-temperature coil in the base of the unit provides enhanced stability under a broad range of conditions. The working environment is near the operating temperature, so fresh water can be circulated throughout the water column more easily.
