Louisiana Sportsman

by Drew, from United States, LA Written on March 22, 2015
I shopped around and looked at several sights/scopes before buying the Burris AR-332. What I like about it is that it is useful for short and long range shooting. At close range, the large "ring" reticle gives you very fast target acquisition. At 3X power, using the smaller reticle dots, you can reach out to distant targets. Another big plus on this sight is the integrated mounting base which means no rings to mess with. The red and green illuminated reticle are useful in many light conditions, and the non-illuminated black reticle works fine during most daylight conditions. If the battery dies, you still have the black reticle. So far I am very satisfied with this sight....

Burris AR-332 3-power Scope w/BDC

by Cold Warrior, from United States, MD Written on March 6, 2015
While it's definitely not an ACOG, it is a very good scope.
Other people have commented about canted reticles, and it looks that way coming out of the box; but when you mount is correctly, it's not canted.
The colored reticle/BDC (Red/Geen/Black[off]) has good range and I've used it from low-light level to bright sunshine in snow, it works great.
It Zeroed easily, holds zero (approx 400 rounds so far). The BDC works great. I's a little tough on older eyes, as the reticle and BDC are small...very small, but remember front sight focus, or in this case, reticle focus. The BDC is set up for .223, but there are charts that show 7.62x39 if that's what you're using. My POU was CQB out to 400 yards, and this sight works well for that.
I mounted it on an AK, as traditional scopes/optics require precise eye-relief, and don't usually work out very well on an AK. This however, works great, eye-relief is generous, and you can get it forward on an AK rail mount....
Pros:
  • Price for features
Cons:
  • None

Burris AR 332

by PJ, from United States, AR Written on January 30, 2015
So far it seems to be of sound quality. Took 5 rounds from my Bushmaster to get it in the center of target. And I mean dead center. Illuminated reticle is not needed on sunny day thus saving your battery for when you will need it. Easy to mount and adjust....

Great optics clarity!

by JaySmith, from United States, TX Written on January 12, 2015
I was surprised at the clarity of the optics on this sight. We mounted this to my son's Ruger Mini-14. Two drawbacks noted: the eye relief is set too far forward on the Mini-14 due to the configuration of the rail on the rifle - I'm sure this would be a great scope mount for any AR platform where the rail is set further back.
We have not sighted the scope in properly but at 100 yds was consistent with a 2" grouping while aiming at zero on the target. This, I believe, has more to do with the rifle than the scope. I recommend the scope for an AR platform with rails that are established back to the charging handle. The second drawback is the lighted reticle in the scope. It has an alternate green/red lighted reticle at varying brightness controlled by the knob on top of the scope. If the reticle is too bright, it can obscure the target surrounding the red dot center. The lines around the reticle are fairly thick, thus causing the obscurity....
Pros:
  • Clarity is great
  • holds group
Cons:
  • reticle circles and subtensions are fairly thick
  • illumination brightness may cause increased obscurity at night

Burris AR-332

by RC, from United States, FL Written on December 23, 2014
I bought two of these to put on two if my rifles. So far I am extremely pleased. It was very easy to get sighted in and it was almost dead on out of the box. I was looking for a more cost effective sight to put on the two rifles without breaking the bank. This sight did that. I know several people that have this sight and swear by them. I figured I would give it a shot and since they were more easy on the wallet than some other brands, I went for it. They accomplish what I needed at a decent price point. I got the QD mounts for each as well. Great combo and no problems with either....
Pros:
  • Quality
  • Price point

  • none!

Not a bad choice for 100 yrds or less.

by Mike, from United States, MD Written on December 16, 2014
I am using this sight on a CX-4, 45 caliber. We zeroed it first at 25 yards, then took it out to 50 yards for further corrections. It then held zero quite well after firing 150 rounds. So I am very satisfied with this product. The 3X magnification works quite well for my wife and I, as you can easily see where you are hitting the target, particularly if you are using the Dirty Bird targets. It was also fairly easy to see where we were hitting plain paper targets.
This is my third purchase from Optics Planet, and they exceeded my expectations with the delivery and price they gave me on this item....
Pros:
  • Holds zero
  • 3x magnification
Cons:
  • Narrow field of view
Best Used for:
  • CX-4, 45 and 9mm

Great value for the $

by Patrick Murray, from United States, WA Written on October 17, 2014
Reviewed the heck out of this optic on several different sites. Purchased based upon price, rebate & reviews. Unit came well packaged as all items from Optics Planet. Mounting was easy and quick. I really like the 1/3 MOA adjustments. Was able to zero on the 25m range and confirmed zero @ the 100m mark. The illumination is best for low light situations and the etched reticle was sufficient for daylight use. This is not an optic to replace an Eotech with 3X but it does come pretty darn close. Highly recommended....

Burris AR-332 3X Review

by Moondoggie, from United States, CA Written on October 13, 2014
I wanted to purchase a scope for my Colt AR15 that had some magnification but also gave the ability to sight in at closer ranges. During my search, I did look at Aimpoint and Elotech optics. To set up either of these optics with higher than 1X magnification, required purchasing a separate optic piece at a substantial cost. After a lot of searching, reading reviews, and talking with friends, I chose the Burris AR-332 3X. This mounts to my rails very easy. I would highly suggest using a thread locker on the two screws to insure the vibration does not loosen the screws. This did happen to me and my sight became loose. Now that it is fixtured much better, I was able to sight the scope in at the 50 yard range that I wanted. The 3X magnification is very nice for that added extra closer viewing of the target. I was hitting the target at 50 yards all within a 1" radius of the center. Next time out, I will set the target at 100 yards. If you are reading this review, I really like the different brightness levels of red or green settings. The red during the day is excellent to pinpoint the target, the green is used for night settings. I am shooting at an outdoor range, but I did turn on the green setting at night while in my backyard. Nice! The dust covers fit nicely over the optics and the sight adjustments are tethered so as not to loose them. Optics Planet delivered them a couple of days earlier than stated, nice service, and at a great price. If you are looking for a great scope wit...
