Great value for the $

by Patrick Murray, from United States, WA Written on October 17, 2014
Reviewed the heck out of this optic on several different sites. Purchased based upon price, rebate & reviews. Unit came well packaged as all items from Optics Planet. Mounting was easy and quick. I really like the 1/3 MOA adjustments. Was able to zero on the 25m range and confirmed zero @ the 100m mark. The illumination is best for low light situations and the etched reticle was sufficient for daylight use. This is not an optic to replace an Eotech with 3X but it does come pretty darn close. Highly recommended....

Burris AR-332 3X Review

by Moondoggie, from United States, CA Written on October 13, 2014
I wanted to purchase a scope for my Colt AR15 that had some magnification but also gave the ability to sight in at closer ranges. During my search, I did look at Aimpoint and Elotech optics. To set up either of these optics with higher than 1X magnification, required purchasing a separate optic piece at a substantial cost. After a lot of searching, reading reviews, and talking with friends, I chose the Burris AR-332 3X. This mounts to my rails very easy. I would highly suggest using a thread locker on the two screws to insure the vibration does not loosen the screws. This did happen to me and my sight became loose. Now that it is fixtured much better, I was able to sight the scope in at the 50 yard range that I wanted. The 3X magnification is very nice for that added extra closer viewing of the target. I was hitting the target at 50 yards all within a 1" radius of the center. Next time out, I will set the target at 100 yards. If you are reading this review, I really like the different brightness levels of red or green settings. The red during the day is excellent to pinpoint the target, the green is used for night settings. I am shooting at an outdoor range, but I did turn on the green setting at night while in my backyard. Nice! The dust covers fit nicely over the optics and the sight adjustments are tethered so as not to loose them. Optics Planet delivered them a couple of days earlier than stated, nice service, and at a great price. If you are looking for a great scope wit...

Burris AR-332 3x Prism Red Dot Sight

by JB, from United States, MD Written on September 4, 2014
Well made Optic with nifty features like the choice of the Red or Green Dot and still very easy to use it with the Black Dot when the power is off. If I owned 2 5.56 AR's then I would have 1 of these on each....
Pros:
  • Clear and bright.
  • Well made, good price
Cons:
  • None yet!
Best Used for:
  • Shooting at the Range, Hunting, and Self Defense

Burns battery when off

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on January 21, 2014
I would have loved to have given this scope a perfect rating. Generally speaking, Burris makes a quality product. After owning and using the AR-332 mounted to my A2 carry handle for 3+ years, two design flaws have me shopping for a new scope. First issue is the way the scope consistently trickle-drains my battery when off. Don't know the exact rate of drain, just know it is *really* disappointing to discover I don't have an illuminated reticle just when I need it. The other is the need for tools (screwdriver or a dime) to access the battery compartment and windage/elevation knobs. The latter are safeguarded with screw caps. So why require a tool for adjusting?

Pros: High quality, maintains zero, looks good,
Cons: Burns battery when off, need tool to adjust w/e...

Burris AR-332

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, PA Written on September 26, 2013
I like the fact that this sight is useable even with no battery power. When switched to red or green the reticle is very bright. Very clear optics!
Pros: Very easy to mount, looks fantastic on my AR!
Cons: Have not had the time to really enjoy it yet!...

Mr. Paul

Burris AR-332 3x-32mm Tactical Prism Red Dot sight is mounted on Ruger 10/22. Ensure scope is level when mounting and tightening to base. Once mounted windage was took very little to adjust. Elevation took a little longer to sight in at 25 yards but once sighted in moved target out to 75 yards and adjusted at this distance as most shooting will be done at this distance. Great clarity at this distance and reticle appears not to be canted like others have mentioned. Only wish moa adjustment was a bit more precise but other than that fantistic 3x red dot scope for the money without spending the big bucks for an ACOG!
Pros: Solid, well constructed and value
Cons: Adjustment...

Good sight

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on September 14, 2013
Using on an SKS and getting a good stable platform on the rifle proved difficult but once I got it the sight worked great. I must have purchased this so I would have to purchase an ar 15. I've used a buddy's ar 15 with an older version of this sight and we both like it for the ar.
Pros: magnification works great and like the black reticle when turned off
Cons: Nonef...

332 with 556 reticle?

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on September 3, 2013
Optics Planet service, excellent as always. Have had my 332 for about 1,000 rounds of 5.56 thru my Tavor. Mounted easy, sighted in with a few rounds and then went for a little more distance. Was body mass accurate out to 600 yds, works very well. Looked at other optics but for the buck this one won. I have an EoTech and scopes but for CQB and distance, within the 5.56 rounds ability this fit the bill. Seems some one on the assembly line did me a favor, they put in the reticle for the 556 with 5 BDC dots instead of 4 and it works great. Will I buy another, yes.
Pros: Excellent value, quality product
Cons: none...

almost as good as hoped

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, CA Written on August 10, 2013
for tactical shooting only this is pretty darn good for the money. If you plan on being accurate at 200yds + you better look elsewhere. Mounted this on a M&P AR 10 with 18" barrel and it held up to the recoil just fine.
Pros: easy set up and site-in
Cons: after 100yds the reticle covers too much area...
