Most Helpful Positive Review Excellent Scope
This scope is being used on a Remington 700 ss 5R Mil Spec. Rifle in .308. I'm very pleased with this purchase so far. I knew there should be a good Tactical/Target scope without spending north of 1000 bucks and after researching for months, I kept coming back to this unit. My criteria was optical c...

The first scope arrived with a cracked internal lens. Optics Planet's customer service was outstanding in promptly replacing the item. The second scope arrived the item was mounted and bore sighted. Not for me!!!

by Jim, from WV, United States Written on November 28, 2020
I purchased this scope, and was surprised how clear it was. But.... I put it on a customized .300 Win Mag. I zeroed it at 100 yards. As I shot it would throw a round every now and then. I checked the mounts and such and everything checked out. As I looked through the scope I noticed if I moved my eye just a little the point of impact would move. Very odd. I sent it back and when I got it back it did the same thing. So.... I ordered a Leupold 8.5 x 25, problem solved. Oh yeah, it does make a decent spotting scope.
Pros:
  • Clear lens
Cons:
  • Point of impact changes
Best Used for:
  • Spotting scope.

Awesome Scope for Big Guns!

by Boss, from FL, United States Written on May 18, 2018
I looked at High end price scopes and found that this Millet scope offers and delivers Big Bang for your $$$$
Was also Chosen in sniper magazines for Big caliber guns and HOLDING it's Zero
Ordered my scope in Feb was out of stock, received scope in estimated time and was even better then the description. Installed it on my BMG 50 Set zero @ 300 yards shooting a 1/2 thick 3 foot square Steel Plate ( shot went thru every time) with a 3 inch center, once scope was sighted in, the center of the plate now has a 3 inch thru hole!
Will be getting another scope for my other toy! Definitely recommend this Beast!

Millet LRS Riflescope

by LD, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on December 6, 2017
I have had several of these scopes and for the price point you can’t beat them! They are solid and have decently clear glass. I wish they had turrets like the Nightforce Zerostops but they at least have a lock ring. Overall, I would recommend these scopes to anyone!

Millett LRS-1, BK81006 Scope

by JrsTera, from TX, United States Written on March 16, 2017
Until yesterday I couldn't evaluate the scope as I hadn't used it yet. Mounting is easy, not having to buy rings for it since they're included. It's a big scope but I like that. Being used on a 50BMG it needs to be beefy. So far, it holds Zero throughout the range of zoom and focus. As for returning to zero, I haven't checked that as of yet. I haven't stretched out the distance on it beyond the 100 yard mark, just zeroed 25, 50 and 100 yards. I have two Millett scopes, for the money, you really can't go wrong.
Best Used for:
  • Heavy Caliber Rifles

LRS1 takes a licking and keeps on ...

by Phantom30, from FL, United States Written on February 1, 2017
as of 2017 had this scope for almost 5 years. Reliable and tough. Loaded in carry bag bouncing around in the back of my truck. Holds up both mount and 600 yard zero on my Rem 700 300WM 5R Mil spec system which is true to the mark. 240gr Bergers out beyond 1200 meters within one turret rotation. Badger one piece rail very helpful in millet ring placement. Lets you take advantage of the 140 MOA turret and the high rings. This scope has 1/4 MOA clicks and is no problem even with small holdovers. Some have reported that the .1 MOA version can strip gears, not a problem here. The price performance here is exceptional
Pros:
  • Solid product
  • great elevation capabiltiy
  • illumination good
  • Long hood very usefull
Cons:
  • weight
Best Used for:
  • long range shooting

Bad customer service on defective scope

by Radar, from TN, United States Written on January 28, 2017
One of my friends purchased this scope for me as a gift and after 200 rounds a screw fell out on the inside locking up the magnification ring. I tried to return it under the warranty, but was told that because I didn't have to original receipt and was not the original purchaser the warranty was void. I contacted Bushnell and tried to explain that it was a gift and I have had it less than 6 months. After talking with 4 different people, supposedly each higher up than the other, i now have a $600 paper weight. Do not buy this scope or from millett if you have other options.

Excellent starter Second Focal Plane Mil Dot riflescope!!!!!

by Bengal Kid, Verified Owner from NM, United States Written on October 5, 2016
This is a SFP Mil Dot scope that is outstanding for its price and durability. It has taken a lot of abuse already with no complaints. The scope is a compromise in two ways. First, by keeping the Mil Dot Bar reticle at the 2nd Focal Plane (i.e., where the eye piece focuses not where the image is focused prior to magnification) the range can only be calculated at full magnification.

Target distance (yards) = Known object height (yards) x 1000 / Mil reading

At other magnifications one could arrive at the true range by dividing the calculated distance by the reduction factor. For example, if I set the magnification at slightly above 6, then 25/6.25 = 4. So whatever target distance I calculate using the size of a known object, I must divide that number by 4.
The second compromise is that its reticles are in MOA, not 0.1 Mils. It allows a shooter more used to MOA scopes and use the Mil Dot Bar for distance estimation only.
Very clear through the eye piece and there is hardly any vignetting even at maximum magnification of 25x.
The scope comes with generic leaflet, no Mil Dot use manual. Totally useless.
Illumination is very good. The lowest level is called NV, probably for Night Vision, is excellent for twilight hunting.
Best Used for:
  • Long distance hunting and target shooting
  • Distance estimation

Millet 6-25x56mm .25 LRS-1

by Anachra, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on June 11, 2016
This scope was delivered on time by OpticsPlanet.com. I have several millets and all of them including this one have performed well. The FOV on this particular scope is excellent at 100, 200, 300, 400 and 500 yards. Even at distances farther out it provides a clear visual. If they keep putting it on sale I will definitely buy more.
