This is a really nice compact system. The emphasis is on compact. Know what your getting here. This is a keymod mounting system which mounts on the side of the handguard. This is at least 1.5 inch shorter than a bottom mounter. Also the legs only extend 2.75 inches so again its is compact. When you get your unit exercise the leg swivel by hand to loosen it up before installing it.
There are a lot of moving parts so if you rattle can your tactical gear beware the tolerances are not very ultra flat paint thickness friendly. Also the excellent rubber leg tips and not paint friendly. The unit is sturdy and is consistent with a stable firing platform.

Supplemental information: The MIL dot bar reticle has two settings that read accurately. When set to 25x the dot to dot is one MIL with half MIL dashes in between to refine your measurements. When set at 12.5x the dot to dash measure is one MIL so you have a 10 MIL reticle at 12.5 power and 5 MIL at 25x

I ordered this scope as soon as the dad day coupons came in, coupled with sale price it was an offer I could not refuse. I sent it to my alternate address a PO Box, said 5-10 business days, free shipping. Well, ordered on Monday morning, writing review after playing with it here Wednesday evening, amazing. This is my third Millett. This is the first Camo version, always wanted one but priced higher most of the time but, not this week. Ok it comes with those Millett high rings with 6 bolts per ring. They mount on large recoil weapons, think the recoil limit is 2000gs. This sight is a MIL/MIL unit, the elevation knob has about a 29 MIL come up capability, a little 6mm Creedmoor only needs 12.5 MIL for targets at 1,500 yards using DTAC 115gr RBTs. If your rifle ammo combination needs more than 29 MILs, you need to rethink that aspect not the scope. Otherwise you may need a MIL biased rail. It comes with a matching CAMO~ 4” shade. But the little Millett scope sock only covers the basic scope. The rubber lense covers are black – rattle can help required. All of the control devices are stiff when received but loosen up quickly with a little use. The scope quality is the finest second plane reticle unit around IMHO. The reticle is clear and gives accurate MIL readings when set to 25x. My only complaint is this version does not have an illuminated reticle for use with NVGs or low light settings. All the other details are the same as my other write ups for other model

I bought this scope a couple of years ago. Has performed very well. Bought a TRS recently for a 308W. Couple of facts on Millett scopes both TRS and LRS are secondary plane reticles, therefore, their Mil Dot reticles are accurate, without scaling, at one power setting. TRS at 10x LRS at 25x, the elevation MOAs TRS 100, LRS 140. These scopes with the 6 screw Millett or Leupold mounts, are good for 2000gs. G loading in your rifle is given by the peak chamber pressure in PSI times the area of the cartridge base in square inches divided by the fully loaded weapon weight in pounds. Check SAAMI for data if you don't know. This scope on a 300WM 5R using Berger 230gr Hybrids will out perform a 338 Lapua. You'll need the ability of the elevation turret to track the number of rotations for higher MIL or MOA settings. This scope will do it precisely.

One thing I needed to added to previous reviews. These Millett scopes have large MOA/MIL capacity, The TRS-1 has 100 MOA and the LRS has 140. So for the MIL/MIL scope that means there is 5.5 Mils on the Turret but you can measure around five times or 29 mils of elevation. The indicator at the bottom of the turret reports the revolutions. This means that if you are going to shoot 1,000 yards with a 300 yard zero for 308W 168 SMK, your MIL come up is 9.7 MILs, that is once around and 4.2MILs more. The scope has a ten MIL reticle system to the bar so you could just use 9.7 dots on the reticle, but beyond 1,000 yards your come up requires the larger wrap around especially if you use a shorter zero. This is one of the product strengths.

This is the best price performance scope out there IMHO. You look over the eye piece and there before you is all the scope dope clearly visible. Diopter, parallax focus with range indicated, windage, elevation, zoom, and illumination settings. Then you look through the eye piece and there is that clear crisp image of the target area with one of the best finely etched laid out MILDOT bar reticles. This is a precise tool. They say that since Bushnell bought out Millett that they are made in china, well it is reported that Millett made them in Taiwan not the same. The illuminator actually has a NVG setting. It has marks on the elevation turret to indicted the number of times you have turned it all the way around for those long shots. This TRS-1 is ideally matched to my short action Remington, I have had the LRS on a Magnum for years performing as expected. Noticed that the Millett 6 screw rings are no longer available, they work great, they still had them in stock when I got this TRS. If this one passes the endurance test for the next couple of weeks it will be a keeper.

as of 2017 had this scope for almost 5 years. Reliable and tough. Loaded in carry bag bouncing around in the back of my truck. Holds up both mount and 600 yard zero on my Rem 700 300WM 5R Mil spec system which is true to the mark. 240gr Bergers out beyond 1200 meters within one turret rotation. Badger one piece rail very helpful in millet ring placement. Lets you take advantage of the 140 MOA turret and the high rings. This scope has 1/4 MOA clicks and is no problem even with small holdovers. Some have reported that the .1 MOA version can strip gears, not a problem here. The price performance here is exceptional

Updated review. Got it out in the woods an around large bodies of water. Worked great. Could resolve structures across the bay 3.5 miles away. Could clearly target boat pier pilings over 300 yards in half moon full overcast conditions, with lasermax Uni-IR laser. The illuminator works fine in woods but not necessary in most conditions

I just ordered my second one of these for use on 300 BLK rifles. Structurally this unit is fairly flimsy, but it works. The manual is available on line under Lasermax Uni. It supports seven different lasers in this class product. The rail attachment is well thought out so you don't lose pieces in the dark. Fits nicely in front of my grip pod. The alignment Allen wrench is very small and easily lost. Alignment is delicate. Best done with a visible laser already aligned and used with your daylight filter on your NVG to bring into alignment with visible laser. Battery compartment screws another source concern but functional. Works just great, good strong targeting dot. Went beyond my NVGs ability to resolve (>500 yards). Documented output power <0.7mW, Wavelength 800-900nm often cited in the center at 850nm. The slide switch can be an issue, inadvertent turn on can be prevented with care and an innovative fix of your own design. You need to know how to switch mode settings and practice it. Or spend another $150 for the switching kit. Great bang for the buck.
