Pros:  durable, dual illumination, fits acog nicely
Cons:  fiber optic illumination. see comments
Would recommend:  yes

Great Product. Simply the best red dot you can get in my opinion. The only cons are expected since it is a fiber optic sight. For example, Shooting from lighted area into darkness the reticle is too bright. Fiber optic collects too much because it cant see to adjust brightness for where you're aiming. same goes for the other way around (shooting from dark area to light). It is still usable in these conditions, It's just not optimal. However, in same light conditions the reticle brightness is "spot on."

Pros:  No battery worries with all the other pluses of the RMR line
Cons:  low light transition performance understandably weak
Would recommend:  yes

This RMR 04 is the fourth RMR purchase for me and is now my favorite for general use and carry. I was a bit hesitant to try the battery-free version but I'm impressed with it so far. Great daylight and acceptable dark performance and it is understandable that the low light transition between fiber optic and tritium illumination is not optimal. I have had some problems with the battery powered dimmable RMR models and would not use them for carry or competition but I'm looking forward to try this RMR 04 in training and competition.

This is now my Second RMR Purchase. The first was as a short range sight mounted on a Trijicon Scope on a Remington 700 which has proved effective in the field for those shots taken at opportunity targets at close range, The second has been set up as a co witness sight on a Circuit Judge .45/410 for close quarters shooting in rainforrest environments. In both applications the Trijicon RMR Dot is easily located both day and night.

Pros:  Battery-free, rugged, quick target acquisition
Cons:  Minor flood-out
Would recommend:  yes

Supermeighen wrote:

This is a great sight. No batteries, super rugged and very visible dot for target acquisition. My only qualm with it at all is that you might get some flood-out if you are attempting to shoot from darkness into a lighted area, but if you're shooting humans who appear darker at distance anyway, you should still be fine with the amber dot. I will buy another to mount on my primary combat rifle since I purchased this first one for my handgun. Great sight. HIGHLY recommended.

Pros:  Clear, sharp, fast acquisition, never needs batteries
Cons:  Dot is washed out when aiming from a dark place into a lit place
Would recommend:  yes

I bought this sight for an FNX-45. The FNX slide is machined at the factory to accommodate the Trijicon RMR or Docter sights and comes with mounting plates for both. This sight is extremely accurate, holds zero well despite being mounted on the slide and the bright amber dot makes target acquisition easy. The dot is illuminated by fiber optics and a tritium lamp, so you never need batteries. Highly recommended!
