This brace is a beast

Written on Feb 23, 2024

Featuring a foldout support arm, it effectively counterbalances muzzle weight and stabilizes pistols against the forearm, works well for shooters of various sizes with five adjustable positions. With a lightweight build of just 6.7 ounces and a width of 2 inches, it strikes a balance between size, comfort, and sturdiness. Its telescoping latch mechanism offers five length options, with the longest providing a 12.75-inch length of pull. Constructed from injection-molded GF nylon, it ensures durability for rugged use. The inclusion of a proprietary buffer tube serves some legal purpose... it's important to note that this tube is specific to the Mod 2 brace and cannot be used with standard AR-style stocks.

Very long, quality barrel

Written on Apr 21, 2022

This barrel has tight lockup (better than oem) in my sig procut slide. Finish is top notch. It is longer than any other threaded fullsize p320 barrel Ive seen, which gives extra clearance for certain muzzle devices/pdw conversation chassis's and yeilds a slightly higher muzzle velocity. It is missing the lci cutout meaning the chamber is fully supported, but it cannot be used with m17 slides. The fluting on a pistol barrel is utterly unnecessary and the pattern is a bit suspect - but unless you consistently run overpressure loads, the barrel will probably hold up just fine.

Good sight for DPP footprint

Written on Sep 07, 2021

This is an excellent sight for the price. Made of good aluminum alloy (7075 T6 claimed by mfgr), fits the delta point pro footprint and measures some 0.9" at the base, making it perfect for a slim/single stack slide (glock 43, p365, 1911, etc). It is adjustable from daylight bright to nvg settings. It has a cutout to accommodate your backup rear sights, though you will probably still need Supressor height sights to make this work. There is a motion sensing feature which will turn the sight on, and a auto-off feature to save battery: very well thought out. It can also be put into a "hard" on mode. The battery can be swapped from a side tray without removing the mounting screws and losing your zero. It seems to be very well sealed and would likely stand quite a bit of water thrown its way - more than I've put mine though anyhow.

cost effective, well made

Written on May 21, 2021

These pins have the slotted profile common to mil spec pins but are also internally threaded on one end to serve as self clinching fasteners - providing additional "anti walk" functionality. They are simple to install and provide an additional measure of security for loose pins or trigger packs that do not engage the slot on the pin. Whereas most pins like this are merely threaded hollow tubes, these are solid, heavier and likely much sturdier as a result.

great cheap extended release button

Written on Apr 08, 2021

Item is very fairly priced and provides a great customizable extended release feature. Texture is grippy and sharp. My only gripe is that it lacks the spring and plastic clip/detent, which you must purchase separately or carefully remove from your current firearm with something like a paperclip.

Cost Effective Ambi Mag Release

Written on Feb 28, 2021

There are objectively better ambidextrous AR magazine releases out there but this is a very functional part and probably the most affordable. The extended magazine button is replaceable with most magazine release extensions on the market. Magazines require far less force to release from non-dominant side of the weapon with this installed, which may be a problem for magazine retention in the long term. This is probably due to how much play the lever on the non-dominant side has, which itself is another concern.

Great addition for fighting rifle

Written on Feb 26, 2021

This intriguing tool serves as a natural addition to an existing a2 or Hogue grip - which in turn allows it to fit anywhere an AR grip does. Besides the obvious field maintenance\repair functionality provided, it also serves as a void fill for your plastic grip, additional weight for balance\recoil mitigation and also a last-ditch melee weapon (plastic skull cracker). It should be noted that this isn't exactly a replacement for a proper cleaning kit as oil capacity is tiny and the tools are... field-grade. But it is hard to argue that it is far better than having a problem in the field with no tools whatsoever. Cleaning tools are .22 as one might expect, but they are replaceable and appear to be interchangeable with standard cleaning kit pieces. Twist on action and an o-ring on the base provide a water-tight seal and lock the tool firmly in place.

functional adjustable mlok grip

Written on Feb 04, 2021

For some reason there aren't a lot of mlok grips out there that are adjustable, so this is a welcome product. Mounts as easily as any mlok accessory and is slightly lower profile than picatinny equivalents. Adjustment lugs engage very securely and withstand recoil well. Storage compartment is a good plus for spare cr123 batteries. Grip panels seem like an afterthought and don't really serve any practical value. Plastic construction is great for insulating your hands from a gun that likes to heat up.

A decent aluminum foregrip

Written on Feb 03, 2021

This unit is lightweight and low profile. It mounted without issue. Due to the use of a ball + socket joint and a threaded pusher end cap, there is some nuance to grip angle adjustment - but the grip remains firmly in place once the cap is properly hand tightened. Lastly, Aluminum is a far better conductor of heat than plastic (7075 is ~130w/m-k while glass filled nylon is ~0.3w/m-k). This males this is a poor choice for a firearm that heats up quickly.

good for low-recoil firearms

Written on Jan 25, 2021

Not sure what makes this "pro"... As it is objectively less rugged than than standard counterpart. "low profile" would be a much better descriptor as a large portion of the sight body (battery compartment) is below the mounting plane. Otherwise, it fits rmr mounting patterns (provided you have room for the battery compartment) and can handle low recoil firearms (.22lr,. 380, milspec 9mm, etc), though is better suited to airguns in my opinion. It should be noted that this is probably the lowest profile rds out there.
