Awesome Scope

Best scope you can buy for the price. Just as good as higher price scopes with all the same features. Vortex has great products. This is my third optic from them.
Pros: Clarity, Quality

Love this scope, it has all the features of higher priced scopes without sacrificing quality. I would highly recommend this and plan on purchasing another soon. Glass is clear and illuminated reticle is bright. Best scope for the price!

Viper PST 4-16X50 EBR-1 MRAD Reticle

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on April 4, 2014
This is our second PST. Both are excellent scopes! Tracks perfect. Mine is FFP the wife's is not. She didn't feel the need. It would be nice if the turrets locked. Sometimes they'll move when in the case. Doubt the turrets would be a problem hunting though since they are fairly stiff to turn. They have a good positive feel when adjusting. Very good fine reticle. Useful not cluttered. Nice zeroing feature for elevation too. Broke my heart not buying a Leupold this time but they didn't have the reticle I wanted for these applications. My PST is on a Rock River Standard Operator LAR-8 308 (Similar to an AR10) the wives is on a model 10 Savage bull barrel. Both are well matched with this scope. Tack drivers! MRAD will make you exercise the old brain... sometimes too much:=))
Pros: Very good glass. Turrets positive. Tracks good. Good reticle, warranty
Cons: Turrets don't lock but not a big deal....

Superb

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from United States, TX Written on September 4, 2013
The scope has all the features that you could ever ask for in a hunting / tactical riflescope. I am most impressed with the illuminated reticle. For low-light conditions this scope tops all other scopes that I have used. The lighted reticle is quick to engage, has many intensity settings, and most importantly maintains the benefits of the fine reticle for precision hunting....

Great Scope

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on July 24, 2013
Only gave the scope a 4 on overall rating because of the zero stop setting method. This is a great scope for the money and the warranty (should it ever be needed) is the best I've ever seen. Vortex seems to stand behind their product. Glass is very clear and sharp. MOA reticle is easy to read. Dials are stiff, just the way I like them so no worries about bumping something out of whack. Turrets have positive "clicks" when dialing windage & elevation. I have a Nightforce scope on one of my other rifles, the Vortex is 1/3 of the cost and the quality shares several comparisons. Highly recommend.
Pros: Great glass, solid construction
Cons: Not a big fan of the "zero stop", suggest to take a page from the Nightforce book...

Quality at great value

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, CA Written on May 22, 2013
This scope was used on a Kel-Tec RFB .308

Quality of the scope is top notch. Clarity of the glass is clear at full mag.
Knobs and clicks are solid. The added fiber optic on the knobs helps with finding the Zero.
Zero Stop function is such a great feature that isn't found on scope less than $1,000!
Holds zero with repeatable accuracy when dialing the knobs.
The Scope was used in a long range precision class taught by a former Marine Scout Sniper and this scope did well in the class.

Repeatable accuracy, positive feel and sound of knob clicks, magnification dial is solid.

The reticule MRAD was easy to use and very accurate. The way the reticule is laid out its easy to read in low light condition and when on the fly reading is needed. I highly recommend this scope.

I own both the Vortex Viper PST 4-16x50 and Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50. Both are great quality. I prefer the 4-16x50 due to length and weight and the usage needed for the distance.

Pros: Quality, zero stop, user friendly, clarity...
