Very good for the cash

by chappy54, from United States, ME Written on March 24, 2015
cant beat the value tons of extra's for the money. Very reliable thus far. Crystal clear vision. I really like the ability to light the cross hair. I don't think anyone can really complain about what your getting versus what your paying. I can see these optics price sky rocketing in a few years....
Pros:
  • Value for the price
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • distance shooting and scope installation
Would recommend: Yes

Great scope at a reasonable price

by Bonefish, from United States, CO Written on March 16, 2015
I got this scope for my Bushmaster predator rifle. I could not be happier. Very clear optics very positive clicks on all controls. I also purchased the 3 inch offset mount, lever for the power ring, and flip up caps. I highly recommend these also especially the power ring lever. I have only shot this at my 100yd range for siting in. POI moved precisely. I don't think you could go wrong with this scope....

Viper PST 4-16

by Jalel, from United States, CA Written on March 14, 2015
I did a lot of research trying to find a good scope at a great price. What I got was a great scope at a good price ! This was my first Vortex scope, had a lot of the features I wanted. Should have spent the extra $$ and gotten the FFP. Disappointed at myself for that ! Eye relief is amazing, zero stop, illuminated reticle, tracking is spot on , holds a zero with no problem. Awesome scope for hunting and long range shooting....
Pros:
  • eye relief
  • Reticle quality, turret quality
Cons:
  • none... yet
Best Used for:
  • Long-Range Shooting
  • Hunting/Target

Awesome scope for the $$$

by mpglock, from United States, TN Written on January 27, 2015
Glass is super clear and dead on accurate at 300+ yds. While it is a SFP scope, it is great fro what I needed it for. Positive adjustment clicks and MOA reticle and turrets are spot on. The scope is a bit heavy but the rifle that I have it on is going to be used for bench and prone shooting so no worries there. However, for lightweight hunting applications, may not be ideal...
Pros:
  • clear glass
  • accurate,holds zero,crisp clear image
Cons:
  • Heavy
Best Used for:
  • Long range target, hunting & varminting

Its a vortex, need I say more?

by Rusty, from United States, CO Written on January 5, 2015
I did a lot of research before buying this scope, trust menits worth spending a little extra to have an item that will last forever. Attached to my DPMS .308 Bull G2 24 in s/s barrel, and this bad boy is ready to go. Grouping within 1 in at 100 yds. If your going to use this on a tactical rifle, I would reccomend using the burris set of rings/riser in one. I bought the vortex 30mm high mount rings per instructions from opticsplanet, and it barely fits. Fast delivery, quality product, and (except the poor advice on the rings) quality customer service. Highly reccomended....

New VortexViper PST

by Gunner, from United States, HI Written on December 17, 2014
I had to replace a scope on my long range rifle, due to the old scope having an internal malfunction. I already have a VORTEX spotting scope, and when I saw someone elses VORTEX scope I wanted to upgrade to this one. I did my research and listened to friends and found one that fit all the requirements that I was looking for. I like the clarity of the glass in VORTEX products, and I like the fine lines in the recticle, its very easy to see the marking and count out the mils I'm seeing. The movement of the controls is a solid click, and its very easy to count as you move. It was simple to zero and I have moved to a mil/mil set up on this scope, as opposed to mildot/MOA clicks that was on the old scope. For the money this is a great scope, and I hope to be shooting it for years to come....

Great scope

by Whiteboywasted, from United States, WA Written on December 13, 2014
Excellent scope for the price!! Used this scope on a tikka t3 lite 300WSM. Shot a nice mule deer at 610 yards. Love the scope but I am upgrading to the 6x24 power for the extra magnification. It was a little hard to see a third point on my buck at that distance so I figured it was necessary to upgrade....

Vortex Viper PST 4-16x50 Riflescope

by surfcity2012, from United States, OR Written on November 14, 2014
This is one fine optic. I have rifle scopes by Leupold, Zeiss, Trigicon, Acog, Vcog, RMR, Eotech, Nikon, Simmons, Viper Razor, and my Viper Vortex stands up as good and clear as any of the others. It has excellent light transmission for a 50mm objective. This being my second Vortex, I will be considering purchasing another. And from OpticsPlanet. There service is the best.

Great Scope

by Craig, from United States, WA Written on August 26, 2014
Compared side by side to similarly priced Nikon and Leupold. Hands down the brightest and clearest glass. The only one with both vertical and horizontal MOA hash marks in reticle for both elevation and hold over. Much more accurate than the BDC style reticle. Love the feel of the positive clicks on the external turrets and easy ability to return to zero. A lot of scope for the money. I wish I had gotten the FFP one, but otherwise zero complaints....

Vortex Viper PST 4-16X50 Scope

by Floyd Self, from United States, TX Written on August 12, 2014
Vortex makes some of the best scopes available, at any price. I've tried about all of them. Unless you want to spend a $1,000 or much more, just to say you did, this is the scope that gets the job done time after time in all conditions and doesn't break the bank doing it.
I can think of nothing I would change about this scope. IT is awesome....
