New VortexViper PST

by Gunner, from United States, HI Written on December 17, 2014
I had to replace a scope on my long range rifle, due to the old scope having an internal malfunction. I already have a VORTEX spotting scope, and when I saw someone elses VORTEX scope I wanted to upgrade to this one. I did my research and listened to friends and found one that fit all the requirements that I was looking for. I like the clarity of the glass in VORTEX products, and I like the fine lines in the recticle, its very easy to see the marking and count out the mils I'm seeing. The movement of the controls is a solid click, and its very easy to count as you move. It was simple to zero and I have moved to a mil/mil set up on this scope, as opposed to mildot/MOA clicks that was on the old scope. For the money this is a great scope, and I hope to be shooting it for years to come....

Great scope

by Whiteboywasted, from United States, WA Written on December 13, 2014
Excellent scope for the price!! Used this scope on a tikka t3 lite 300WSM. Shot a nice mule deer at 610 yards. Love the scope but I am upgrading to the 6x24 power for the extra magnification. It was a little hard to see a third point on my buck at that distance so I figured it was necessary to upgrade....

Vortex Viper PST 4-16x50 Riflescope

by surfcity2012, from United States, OR Written on November 14, 2014
This is one fine optic. I have rifle scopes by Leupold, Zeiss, Trigicon, Acog, Vcog, RMR, Eotech, Nikon, Simmons, Viper Razor, and my Viper Vortex stands up as good and clear as any of the others. It has excellent light transmission for a 50mm objective. This being my second Vortex, I will be considering purchasing another. And from OpticsPlanet. There service is the best.

Great Scope

by Craig, from United States, WA Written on August 26, 2014
Compared side by side to similarly priced Nikon and Leupold. Hands down the brightest and clearest glass. The only one with both vertical and horizontal MOA hash marks in reticle for both elevation and hold over. Much more accurate than the BDC style reticle. Love the feel of the positive clicks on the external turrets and easy ability to return to zero. A lot of scope for the money. I wish I had gotten the FFP one, but otherwise zero complaints....

Vortex Viper PST 4-16X50 Scope

by Floyd Self, from United States, TX Written on August 12, 2014
Vortex makes some of the best scopes available, at any price. I've tried about all of them. Unless you want to spend a $1,000 or much more, just to say you did, this is the scope that gets the job done time after time in all conditions and doesn't break the bank doing it.
I can think of nothing I would change about this scope. IT is awesome....
Best Used for:
  • Long range/prone shots

Vortex Vipter PST 4-16x50 Riflescope

by Ando, from United States, CA Written on July 30, 2014
Great product, the glass is very clear even out to the 16x zoom, was able to dial it in at the range and easily handles the 308 rifle that it's mounted to. Would recommend this product to anyone looking for a high quality and affordable scope that can be used for multiple applications....

Viper PST 4-16X50 EBR-1 MRAD Reticle

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on April 4, 2014
This is our second PST. Both are excellent scopes! Tracks perfect. Mine is FFP the wife's is not. She didn't feel the need. It would be nice if the turrets locked. Sometimes they'll move when in the case. Doubt the turrets would be a problem hunting though since they are fairly stiff to turn. They have a good positive feel when adjusting. Very good fine reticle. Useful not cluttered. Nice zeroing feature for elevation too. Broke my heart not buying a Leupold this time but they didn't have the reticle I wanted for these applications. My PST is on a Rock River Standard Operator LAR-8 308 (Similar to an AR10) the wives is on a model 10 Savage bull barrel. Both are well matched with this scope. Tack drivers! MRAD will make you exercise the old brain... sometimes too much:=))
Pros: Very good glass. Turrets positive. Tracks good. Good reticle, warranty
Cons: Turrets don't lock but not a big deal....
