Some of my 9mm pistols are able to be dry fired without a snap cap, but my Kel-Tec PF9 requires them.
It is a very cheap way to learn trigger control and break in your trigger by using these caps.
I've dry fired my Kel-Tec about 150 times so far...

A-Zoom Precision Pistol Snap Caps are high-quality pistol snap caps, CNC-machined from hard anodized solid aluminum to exactly replicate pistol cartridge dimensions. A Zoom rounds can be used for dry fire training again and again without excess wear or damaging your firing pin. The precise engineering ensures smooth feeding when cycling the slide which gives you realistic practice while chambering rounds, dry firing, performing multiple quick magazine swaps, and practicing malfunction clearing drills.
The red coloring allows instant recognition of the Snap Caps when you do press checks, too. They're great for storing your pistols with one in the chamber to preserve the firing pin spring. It's also a perfect reassurance that you're safely transporting your firearms to the field or range. You can get A-Zoom .380 snap caps, 9mm snap caps, 38 Special snap caps or .357 snap caps, and many other popular calibers. Each Value Pack contains five snap caps.
