These can definitely be used during the daytime. Since this is a thermal monocular, it does not require any light and instead detects the heat signature emitted by birds.
As long as there is even a small gap where the sensor can pick up the bird’s heat signature, you’ll be able to detect something in the trees. No daylight filter needed.
