The hole on top of the gas tube is for an anti rotation pin when using a JL Billet handguard. Pay close attention to this upper, it has flared areas behind the barrel nut threads and is not mil-spec. Only select handguards including the JL Billet rails will work without modifying the upper. I'm speaking from personal experience, I own several JL Billet lowers and uppers.
Great product. Delivered in a timely fashion. My only complaint is the depiction of a complete upper and lower set then calling it an upper. That's deceptive, to say the least. Yes. Read the ad copy. Do not just look at the pretty pictures.
My upper had some finish issues but JL was very accommodating in resolving the issue. Otherwise its a very nice upper. The machining seems nice and it matches their lower perfectly as you would expect.
Bought this after buying an Odin Works upper that would not fit a PSA lower. Odin also doesn’t offer a standalone lower! So took another chance and bought this JL Billet upper. It fits perfectly! Highly recommended.
it is pricey for the upper and lower, everything from jb billet is the worse thing is there barrel nut that you get with the hand guard,it is a real trick trying to get it tight with out stripping it out , thier is not much information on it, i mess...
