RidgeRunner's Review of 5.11 Tactical Riggers Belt

I have been using tactical equipment for most of 40 years. Back in the day before they started calling it that, we mostly made our own from stuff that the Marine Corps issued us (or we swiped) and modified it to our needs and uses. In search of decent belts, I've used everything from old pack straps to braided paracord. A few years back, I bought an Uncle Mike's nylon gunbelt/LE gearbelt. I loved the stiffness, but the plastic buckles kept breaking. I took a parachute harness and the belt to a cobbler and explained what I wanted and he removed the buckle from harness and used a piece of the harness to make the loop so I could use it with a swiss seat and D-ring carabiner. Not exactly like this belt, but close.

About a year ago, a member of my team bought one of these style belts from VooDoo and I was impressed with it, but still satisfied with my homemade job. 2 months ago, my grab and go gear bag was stolen with my prize belt in it. Since then, I've tried 3 different riggers belts and didn't even like them well enough to keep them a week. This belt is most definitely a keeper. It fit and felt well from the first time I put it on. It works well all my equipment and I can get the loop to line up perfectly with my swiss seat.

I highly recommend this belt if you are a serious operator and bet your life on your gear. This is NOT the belt to buy if you are just looking for "cool" looking junk to impress someone with. It's stiff, it's hard to thread into trousers and looks silly with jeans. As for, I am ordering 2 more.
