Most Helpful Positive Review As a gunsmith, here is some real talk….
Let me give you some real talk from a professional gunsmith. The reviews that say this is a good “entry level” red dot are written by folks that are trying to sound like they know more than they do. There is no such thing as an “entry level” red dot…it’s either a red dot sight or it isn’t. You don’t need a master’s degree to operate one. Folks that give a bad review because it didn’t fit, didn’t pay attention when they ordered it. Know your weapon. Understand the “footprint” for red dot sights and order accordingly. Don’t blame the manufacturer for your own laziness or incompetence. As a prof...

Defective. Would not turn on consistently

by Slonjo, Verified Owner from WI, United States Written on June 20, 2025
Really wanted to like this optic. Straight out of the box, I had trouble turning it on. At first, I thought perhaps the generic battery they sent was garbage, so I installed a new battery. It turned on! I played with the multiple reticle options, turned it off and was unable to get it to turn back on (again). Switched batteries again and... no good. Would not turn on. Returned for an exchange of a similar product from Vector Optics which I already have 3 of. Just going with what I know works.

great optic

by azman, Verified Owner from AZ, United States Written on November 8, 2024
Clear red dot, very nice fit on Glock 41 gen4 .40 caliber
I did have to get a new holster because the gun wouldn’t fit with the sight on. Food for thought.

Good budget quality optic.

by Rob, from ND, United States Written on October 10, 2024
For full disclosure, I received a total of six (6) products from this manufacturer for evaluation. I will be detailing not only the individual product listed but my experience with their line of products.

Not everyone can drop several hundreds of dollars for a top of the line optic nor do most people need to do so. There is nothing wrong with a good quality budget optic as long as it delivers and so far this one has delivered. I didn’t have a pistol slide with the “doctor” footprint so it was mounted to a third party 45 degree mount on a semiautomatic rifle. Once installed it was boresighted and fired at the range. It was hitting the target without any further adjustment. It kept its zero during several repeated discharges. I really like that you can change out the reticle. I settled on the circle dot configuration as my favorite. The reticle was clear and bright. Once set we experienced no shift in the adjustments nor issues of any kind.

Two of the products I received were mounted to rifles. Three others to pistol slides without the use of any adapters. The last one was never mounted as I currently lack a slide with the qualifying footprint. With the exception of the unmounted one, each has had a minimum of 200 rounds put through with the mounted optic. One pistol mounted optic has been carried daily for three months now. All have performed exceptionally and without issue. One product did have a slightly misshapen dot appearing almost as a comma instead of a dot however ot...

So far so good

by Danger B, from ND, United States Written on October 10, 2024
Haven’t been to the range yet to test how it holds up, but the reticle looks great, feels like a quality red dot. Doesn’t feel cheap and the multiple reticle options are crisp and are a really cool feature you don’t see on many of these.

Functions Perfectly – design allows almost instant site picture acquisition- "unlimited" eye relief

Functions Perfectly – Open design allows almost instant site picture acquisition- "unlimited" eye relief

Unfortunately, or fortunately, we are living in the midst of a rapid evolution of types of “optics ready” pistol slides with a plethora of proprietary mounting systems. You must be careful that you match your “FOOTPRINT TYPE”. The website description is very thorough and carefully explains the necessary type of mounting system. Quoting verbatim, “Comes with Red dot, tool, removeable[sic] picatinny plate with two screws, cover, lens cloth and instruction manual. Fits pistol optic plate/cut that is compatible with Doctor/Vortex Venom/Burris Fastfire footprint. Does NOT fit optic plate/cut for RMR, Shield RMS type footprints..”

As for me, I will be using the attached Picatinny mounting clamp to attach to the Picatinny Rail attached to my firearm.

The manufacturer has high Quality Control standards because the parts were flawless. The windage and elevation adjustments operate smoothly and stay put. The mechanical and optical engineers were really thinking and they designed a great sight. I really like the very useful automatic off and “motion activated” feature. I also choose this “Red Dot” for the double “Red Dot” of a 2 MOA size centered Red Dot within a 32 MOA sized outer circle.

I have a severe eye vision problem called “an astigmatism”. My Cornea is distorted and that distortion distorts point images and makes the point image appear as a smear. I did not understand th...

feature packed red dot

by robert s., from MS, United States Written on September 30, 2024
This red dot has a ton a features for the cost. I have decided that I'm not really into the circle and dot for a reticle anymore but have been going back and forth between the circle or dot. So far I have found that if I want anything other than a dot, I have to go with a multiple reticle system. There is no just circle sights available and the multiple reticle systems are usually more expensive. So this is a nice optic to have if you want to go with a circle or circle dot. With the waterproof rating, motion activation and 20000 hours battery life, this is a nice budget option for carry. Having used several ADE dots I'm comfortable with it for carry.

Excellent sight for the price!

by Campa Family, from OH, United States Written on September 30, 2024
I can’t say enough good things about this optic! It’s jam packed with a bunch of really cool features that you would normally expect from a much more expensive sight. You can cycle through three different types of red dot designs and it even has this really cool motion detection feature that saves the battery life. I’m not sure about other firearm models but it fits my Gen 5 Glock 19 just fine (not included attachment required). The glass is crystal clear and the housing if the soft itself is really well put together. I will definitely be looking into getting more optics from ADE and recommend it to my gun buddy the next time we go shooting.

A motion activated, multi reticle system, optics ready red dot sight!

by Michael Black, from NY, United States Written on September 30, 2024
I got the ADE 2023 RD3-012-PRO Series Motion Activated Red Dot Sight for my Glock 17, and it fits like a glove! It utilizes the Doctor/Vortex Venom/Burris Fastfire footprint. It does NOT fit optic plate/cut for RMR, Shield RMS type footprints, so make sure that you get the right sight for your firearm. This was my first red dot sight and so far, I can tell you that it is a quality-built sight at a fair price.

I wasn't familiar with the ADE brand, but I can say that it is a quality-built product and I have picked up a few more of their models for various firearms including my Glock 43X MOS. As mentioned, the materials that are used are good, quality materials and I would say it is a good, solid midrange sight, not something I would necessarily use for competition, but it is the one that I use on my daily carry firearm.

Additional features that the ADE 2023 RD3-012-PRO Series Motion Activated Red Dot Sight includes are their "Multi Reticle System", which means that the reticle can be "switched between a 32 MOA circle with 2 MOA dot, a 2 MOA dot only, or a 32 MOA ring only at the push of a button". One difference for this sight is that the battery is a top load system, so you do not need to remove the sight from the firearm just to change the battery.

Overall, the sight is a great sight with clear optics. Even though the sight is made overseas, it is designed in Oregon, USA and the support is US based as well. I can and do recommend the ADE 2023 RD3-012-PRO Series Motion Acti...
