Most Helpful Positive Review fantastic bcg for 6.5 grendel
This bolt carrier group works with 6.5 grendel type 2 chamber. It has a black nitride finish which was very well done. It is easy to clean and the nitride finish is tough and requires very little lubrication. Price is really good for the quality of this bolt carrier group.

Whenever I receive an item like this I disassemble, clean and lubricate as needed. I could not remove the firing pin retention pin (looks like a cotter key). Had to use heavy duty long nose pliers to remove. Found it to be totally rusted. Could not reuse it was so bad. Could barely clean out some of...

Bolt lugs have bad peening with low round count

The back of pretty much every lug is rolled up. Round count on my 6 ARC (18" stainless Proof Research barrel) is under 400 rounds. Rifle has an adjustable gas block and mostly suppressed, but still... Compared to a BCM 5.56 bolt on an 11.5" SBR with over 1000 rounds mostly suppressed without an adjustable gas block, the Aero is horrible. The BCM has almost no wear.

The actual carrier is okay. The firing pin retainer pin is difficult to get back in compared to every other carrier I've pulled apart. It's definitely on the just okay scale.

Failed Headspace Test

I have always like Aero Precision parts, but this is disappointing. This BCG failed the go gauge test, to clarify, this BCG didn't close on the "go" gauge. It appears the bolt face is a little shallow (0.134" depth). I am using a Proof Research carbon fiber barrel, so I assumed the barrel and BCG would have been compatible.

Really nice bcg

Purchased this after i came across a 6.5 grendel upper from Aero. Read lots of reviews, and came to the conclusion this one was my best bet/bang for the buck. It runs really well so far. Everything seems to be in order. Coating was clean, gas key was pproperly staked etc. I can save you all the research, and just say go with it.
