Through the years I've learned that you want a case that is made of good materials and is well put together. I've had cheap soft cases and I have used reasonably expensive hard cases. I really like the versatility of soft cases and the way they take up less room. One thing is certain, I want cases made by Allen. Even their less expensive cases are put together with good materials and great zippers. The zippers are one part that must not fail. You can imagine the troubles a bad zipper can cause. To say that the failure of a zipper can ruin a hunt is a great understatement. One that won't open or close is not the worst that can happen. When a zipper fails and your rifle takes a dive to the nearest mud hole your wish for a better case is too late. Allen cases have never let me down, not even the least expensive one.
Now about this case: the zipper works without binding when going either direction and appears that you would have to intentionally cause it to fail. I like the pockets on this version very well. And there are even two of them. You can easily put a box of ammo in the smaller one and still have storage space in the front pocket that runs from the handles all the way to the tip. One other feature that I like on my cases, and demand of any case I buy myself, is the adjustable carrying strap that is present in this model.
