Most Helpful Positive Review AmeriGlo Tritium Front and Rear Sights MP Shield 3 Dot night Sight set GRN,GRN SW-145
Be aware that the MGW sight tool for M&P will not work on the shield. The Meprolight KimPro Universal Sight Tool or other will be best. I've installed night sights on quite a few of my pistols that came stock with contrast or painted dot sights and the Ameriglo SW-145 tritium 3 Dot night sight set i...

Most Helpful Negative Review AmeriGlo 3 Dot for Shield
Not really bright enough to make a big difference, so I can't say they're much of an upgrade over the factory sights. I was dissapointed in what I got for what I paid. I knew they would be difficult to install, but I was prepared for that via YouTube, so that went as smoothly as could be expected. C...

They fit the Performance Center model

by Wade, from PA, United States Written on November 30, 2022
A "gear expert" in the question section said they wouldn't fit. They fit fine but are dimmer than I'd like. A drop of Kroil overnight helped. Install required rubbing the front on sand paper. I like that there is more light around the front. 147 grain seems to hit a poa just like the factory ones did.

Lamp are dead

by Jeffery Harper, Verified Owner from SC, United States Written on November 17, 2021
As the title says the lamps were dead in 4 years. If I had to do it again and I probably will I would spend more money on better night sights. I’ve had good luck with Trijocon in the past. In the past the trijocon lasted around 10 years.
Pros:
  • Cheap
Cons:
  • Cheap
Best Used for:
  • Range

by Nick, from FL, United States Written on December 26, 2020
These sights are a great upgrade over stock they are easy to pick up in low light the factory rear sight will be very stiff coming out but the difference is amazing I would definitely be putting these on more of my pistols
Pros:
  • Great sight
  • Great site acquisition
Cons:
  • Factory site hard to remove

Shield 2.0

by Pete, Verified Owner from MO, United States Written on October 4, 2020
Got these for my S&W Shield 2.0 after seeing the reviews. Big upgrade, well seen in the dark. I doubt you'll be dissapointed if you decide to replace the factory sights. Only downside is getting the factory rear sight out, its pretty tough. Get yourself a good nylon punch while your at it.

Says for shield models... kinda..

by Maddmaverick, Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on February 28, 2019
Rear sight is bigger than the factory shield sight and will hang over the back of the slide a little bit. The rear sight, the tritium crystal isn't even centered under the opening correctly. Buy a better brand. Not recommended. I don't need that rear sight snagging things coming out of holster. Sucks i had to spend all that money only to get a front sight. Fortunately the front is the exact same height and width as the factory one. Personally i don't like the lighted rear anyway, draws your eyes off the target at night. Another issue with this on a shield model is the distance between the sights. The aperture on the rear is too wide for the shorter distance and there's a lot of fudge room, combine that with the dot not being centered and you'll have a hard time hitting your mark. Junk.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • Poor design and description

AmeriGlo Night Sights for Smith & Wesson . . .

by B.A.D., from MD, United States Written on August 7, 2018
Heard these were great sights and priced very good. However, I had doubts about using the sights being that most sight are 3 dot. Turns out that I like these sights very much as they make sight acquisition quite easy as opposed to a 3 dot system. They were a great addition to my S&W Shield 9mm.
Pros:
  • easy acquisition
  • great at night or low light scenarios
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • night or low light

Ameriglo I dot

by Bucky, Verified Owner from AZ, United States Written on May 10, 2018
Have a ameriglo set without idol and it’s ok but these on a mp shield are money. Get a plastic or brass punch for install. They were tight but do able w punch and hammer. Finish is nice and tritium is bright

Fits great , shoots straight

by LarrysDreams, from SC, United States Written on March 19, 2018
Was easy to install with a brass punch just make sure to loosen set screw on ones you remove. Works great in low light conditions as well as in daylight. I am very pleased with my purchase. Is just as good as more expensive ones. I honestly think they are brighter than the ones on my new Sig Scorpion 1911 Carry
Pros:
  • Easy to install
Cons:
  • I had no cons
Best Used for:
  • Night use or low light

by Steve, Verified Owner from OR, United States Written on September 8, 2017
These sights are bright and easy use in the dark. They also create a good sight picture during the day, though they do not glow.. I've put about 150 rounds through my Shield since getting them. I would recommend these to a friend.
Pros:
  • Good sight picture regardless of light conditions
Cons:
  • None
