This is an excellent scope for the cost. I mounted mine on a Savage model 10 chambered in .223, and it shoots groups the size of a quarter at 100 yards. The scope's design makes it easy to turn on and off, and has three rails to mount IR lights/lasers/whatever. With a good IR light, like a Streamlight Super Tac IR, the scope can see clearly out about 500 yards on a starry moonless night. The included IR light is okay at short ranges, but the Streamlight really extends the usable range.
The included "remote cord" would also be really neat on an AR platform rifle. It's simple enough to hook up to the scope, has a few inches of cord length, and hook-and-loop (Generic velcro, I'm guessing) fasteners to secure it to a weapon easily. I tested it's functionality, and it worked okay. I couldn't find a way to mount it to my bolt-action gun, so I put it back in the box. If you want this scope on an AR, the remote seems like a really nice way of turning it on and off without taking your hands off the grips.
Oh, and batteries are included. 2 generic CR123A style batteries. One for the scope, and one for the included IR illuminator. I've only used the scope for about three hours, so I can't tell how long they last. The scope has an advertised battery life of 60 hours according to the manual.
One of the things I don't like are the turrets. They work, and can be adjusted, but are small and my winter hunting gloves just slide around on them. I'd like it if it came standard with large "tac...
