nothing can hide day or night!!! I've used it to detect animals at night, check for insulation gaps, and prepare for defending home(hopefully never needed). It is high priced, but very well made and does what it claims. So far no problems. I've not used it a whole bunch, but I plan to keep practicing with it if the occasion ever arrives.
