Bought this on sale/clearance thinking it was a good buy. There are probably many better choices out there both from ATN & other companies. Optics Planet replaced it hassle-free, unlike ATN who would have had a more rigorous delayed process to cover it under warranty.
Pros: Less expensive Gen 1 works fine in replacement unit. Pretty clear with IR
Cons: Called ATN and girl on phone made it clear they have freqent Gen 1 reliability problems. The headgear is really bad and adjusting it is quite a struggle. Does not shut off right away & IR always on when device is

ATN Viper is a good night vision. It is so small and lightweight. The range being irradiated of the Infrared Illuminator is a quite short.

It works well in areas with no lighting. Works really good in the wood at night. Outside around the house at night, it works, ok. Peoples porch light that are about 1/2 mile down the road when looking that direction tends to cut down on the distance and identification of what you are looking at. But for the price = nice.
Pros: Works well and cheap
Cons: can't see as far as I would like to but for the price.

For the price the NV is OK... but the mounting and headgear is very poor. Hard to adjust and doesn't stay in place when you finally get it adjusted.
Pros: Price
Cons: Headgear difficult to use

Do not buy this product. get the one for kids, they work they same. and this is for hunting, and camping? I guess if you are in your house. But hey don't listen to me maybe I just got a bad piece. who knows. I wish I did.
Pros: small, light weight, takes one battery
Cons: just doesn't work like they say. outdoors forget about it. 5 to 10 feet and foggy as hell, No go.

Close to the same look and operation of the night vision sets used at my Guard unit, this monocular does close to the same job at a great price. It is fun for walking and driving around in the woods without any lights during the night. Also handy for finding the light switch in the basement if your flashlight runs out of batteries. It only needs an adapter to fit on the rhino mount on my helmet.
Pros: Cheap and simple
Cons: Needs darkness to use
