Most Helpful Positive Review **For those who use Aero Precision M5 lowers**
If you're buying this or any custom AR Mag release kit for your AP M5 lower, do note that the mag release arm may not be not long enough to fit and flush the mag release button (this is because AP's mag release button's for the M5 models are taller in height. In this case for Battle Arms Development...

Most Helpful Negative Review Could be better
The release seems to be machined well enough. The issue is that BAD has changed the design of how the extension tab attaches to the button. It's now attached by a tiny screw, which is counter sunk in the button and relies on back pressure to secure the extension. The issue with this is, BAD included...

Impossible to Install

by john, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on August 28, 2025
parts look great, id prefer flat over shinty black but thats just splitting hairs. the issue is that it is not possible to install this without taking the paddle off the button and this set does not ship with the microscopic Allen key required to remove the paddle

Spring is a little stiffer than the cmmg ambi mag releases but it feels high quality.

Broke putting on

by Brad Thalwitzer, Verified Owner from NJ, United States Written on May 18, 2024
Cheaply made extended mag release. Set screw was put in by factory too much and as soon as I pressed it - it broke off.

junk part and waste of money

by Tony, Verified Owner from TN, United States Written on February 10, 2024
I should have listened to the other reviewers. This product is junk. Same issue as everyone else with the set screws. This company used to make quality products but after this POS and waste of money I will never use them for anything anymore.

Defective, Broke Upon Disassembly, Crickets From Battle Arms

by Mike D, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on November 19, 2023
I purchased on of these and tried to disassemble it to install it. When trying to loosen the screw to remove the extended button I met resistance. I gave it more force and pop... The screw came out but the extended lever piece was broken. I put in a warranty claim with Battle Arms Development on their website over a week ago and have not heard back from them. I'm very disappointed I got a defective product and more so that the manufacturer has not gotten back with me in a timely manner. I will not be ordering this product again and will think twice before ordering anything else from this manufacturer.

  • defective

Install issues

by Geoff, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on September 6, 2023
I'm installing this on a Aero Precision lower and have had nothing but difficulties trying to detach the extension, the tiny screw stripped out. This is of no use for me if I can't detach the extension from the button. I will contact BAD today and will provide an update soon.

highly recommend

by eric, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on August 4, 2022
This is one of the few purchases i am absolutely thrilled with. I cant find anything to complain about. Its good looking, easy to use, easy to install. Most extended mag release wont fit some of the lower receivers, this is the one that most likely will fit.
Pros:
  • Everything
Cons:
  • nothing

Works well

by Jake Lind, Verified Owner from IN, United States Written on March 4, 2022
I like the vastness of the area your finger can hit to release the mag. The way the paddle fixes to the release plunger was nice, using 2 screws and a slip on design ensures you won't have it break off.
