Great scope and affordable

by Brad, from CO, United States Written on April 2, 2024
I needed a scope for my wife's 308. I had already owned a Burris spotting scope and loved the quality of the optics. The throw lever works perfectly allowing us to maintain eye position and easily dial the magnification up and down. I only wish I would have gone with the illuminated reticle for low light conditions and my aging eyes. Zero stop was easy to set and the scope holds the zero perfectly. We have engaged targets out to 1000 meters with 5 mph full value crosswinds holding off using the mil radian windage marks on the reticle with no issues.

inexpensive long distance trainer

by salvarsan, from TX, United States Written on May 2, 2023
The RT-25 acquits itself well against the usual comparisons against Vortex offerings in a similar price range. You get a better balance of range, resolution, and contrast. It's inadequacies show up at the extremes -- significant chromatic haze at maximum zoom is a fact of life in sub-$1400 scopes. How much you can tolerate is the issue. Parallax adjustment is sharp and somewhat unforgiving; it pops into focus instead dialing in the most tolerable unfocus. The 20 mrad ranging reticle is nice but too optimistic. It's good enough for training out to 500 yards using a flat mounting rail. You are limited in the amount of elevation you can dial in once you've zero'ed it for use with an idiosyncratic muzzle brake that significantly shifts point of impact. The reticle rulings are a bit fine for a scope without illumination. Still, for the dollar, I'm satisfied, especially since the next level of optical quality costs twice as much.
