Most Helpful Positive Review Quality Scope
I settled on this scope after a hard look at units in this price range. I like the dual focus. It is precise and the image does not move while focusing like the Vortex razor I returned. I think the glass is a bit better than the Razor, although they are both made in China to a specification by the vendor. Chromatic aberration is well controlled but still present in high contrast viewing. Before I placed my order, I called Burris to ask where it was made and was told Japan. I understand it's a global economy but it seemed deceptive to me. What's a spotting scope without ranging reticles? ...

I just purchased this spotter scope the magnification is perfect. I use the scope for a long range rifle. I totally recommend the scope for someone who’s looking at 1000 yards.

Clarity is great

by Jbordi, Verified Owner from ID, United States Written on September 25, 2022
Light gathering and clarity is great! I have owned Vortex Razor HD spotters, which are great, but this one is a step up. Highly recommend this product and they have a great warranty too. Glad I spent they extra cash and got this one.

Very Nice Piece of Equipment

by jetdog, Verified Owner from MI, United States Written on August 8, 2020
Looked at a few spotting scopes in the same price range and found the Burris to be slightly better glass IMO. Easy to set up, like the fine focus knob and the accessories that came in the box. Neoprene cover fits well and should add a bit of protection sitting inside the day pack.
It is heavy but pretty well balanced. I've set up a tall trigger stick with a tripod head to accept the spotting scope, which will be okay for hunts requiring quick changes between the spotting scope and rifle rest. However, Ive been using a Manfrotto tripod that is much more substantial in supporting the scope and is my preferred method of using the scope. Once you locate your target on 20x you can zoom in and just have to slightly adjust the fine focus. Color and clarity is very good. Low light its best to use 20x as objects just don't jump out.
My main use for this will be on trips out west locating & evaluating mule deer but have also used it to view the recent comet, wildlife on my property and on the rifle range. The warranty is outstanding. Although it's footprint is a bit big and it is heavy, I expect that hours of continuous glassing over miles of terrain will be a lot nicer than hand held 10x binos.

It is a little pricey, but with the discount coupon and free shipping it is a decent deal. Also free shipping called for 7 to 10 days and it arrived in 2 days!
Pros:
  • glass
  • Eace of use
  • Warranty and Price
Cons:
  • heavy and bulky
  • must use a sturdy tripod
Best Used for:
  • wildlife observation and hunting
  • Target shooting

Very Satisfied

by Steve, from UT, United States Written on December 3, 2019
I got this Spotting Scope mainly for shooting and secondly for scenic viewing. I feel it excels at both for me. I looked and looked at different scopes from Redfield to Vortex to this. I ended up with this as I wanted something that wouldn't leave me wanting more. This bushnell has very clear glass at 60x and the option to switch lenses. I have access to public lands and shoot .223 and .308 fairly regularly onto steel and silhouettes. So far I haven't shot past 300 yards while a buddy spots. You can easily see where the bullets miss and make adjustments. On paper it is possible to see the 308 holes on white or splatter targets but I can't really make out 223 holes at 300 yds. I can see this easily working out further for shooting steel. Image is very clear and I don't see much, if any, washout around the edges at 60x. Scenic images at many miles away are crisp and colorful. I do not have any other lenses for it at the moment but do plan on another one in the future. While I haven't had the opportunity to use anything of a higher quality, I have no regrets and would buy this scope again in a heartbeat. I do not see me ever needing to upgrade past this already quality glass.

Burris Signature 20-60 HD spotting scope

by Ecberman, from CA, United States Written on October 17, 2018
Excellent scope all around - well worth the money. Crystal clear under all conditions. Great light-gathering capacity. I've got the optional Burris FastFire red-dot attached as a wide-field aiming aid, and the combo works great together as I can acquire a target quickly with the red-dot then immediately move onto the scope's eyepiece and zoom up from 20x-60x, as required for fine detail. Also have the 30x SCR Mil reticle for use in range-finding while spotting - works great and even though it's a fixed power the use of the red-dot allows fast target acquisition which then be immediately ranged for DOPE. The scope is very easy to use/adjust while in a prone shooting position on the rifle with the scope immediately to my right - just have to turn my head slightly and move off the rifle scope in order to switch over to the spotting scope. Rubberized coating is quite rugged. All in all, an excellent spotting scope.
