I've always wanted a pair of the Wiley X Aries Flight Gloves even though I'm a General Aviation pilot.

During cold weather, standard gloves aren't really suitable because of the thickness of the fingers. The exposed opening on the thumb and two fingers allow easy access to switches, dials and buttons and thus perfect if you're flying a PA-28 and (I assume) an F/A-18C Hornet!

However, a word of warning. I recommend you buy the next size up. I tend up wear Medium gloves but my previous experience with a Wiley X glove (Durtac SmartTouch Mens Protective Gloves Tactical Military Foliage Green), I was advised to purchase a Large - and it was a very tight fit. Therefore, I made sure I ordered a Large for the Wiley X Aries Flight Gloves and I'm pleased I followed the same advice.

Incidentally, Wiley X no longer offer this product on their website but after writing to them, they advised me to buy from Optics Planet. A number of other online retailers had them advertized but their reviews were awful. My experience with Optics Planet was second to none.
