Solid value for money

Written on Oct 24, 2022

Such clarity. Such Brightness. Such a sharp reticle. Such a fine center dot. Easy to install and zero. The windage and elevation knobs are very positive and give good tactile feedback for the clicks. The zoom knob is a bit stiff, but I anticipate it should smooth out quickly with use. Same with the parallax adjust knob. If it doesn't smooth out - meh - easy to live with no problem as is. Very happy with this scope.

WHY did Barska discontinue this outstanding value-for-money scope?!?

Written on Jan 17, 2021

Okay, I bought a *very* high end .22 match rifle (Vudoo V22S), and at the same time a mid-range-priced scope, cost about twice as much as this model Barska. Used the new scope about 1,000 rounds during barrel break-in, then moved to ammo evaluations (Eley, Lapua, SK, etc.). After a couple hundred rounds of ammo testing, I was still not perfectly happy with the scope, so replaced with my 'old' Barska SWAT 8-32x44 IR. Groups tightened, seemed like same ammos shot better with the Barska! I'll stick with the lower price Barska now for next month's match, and put the newer, more expensive scope on my Kimber 82G and see how it does there. NOTE: Both scopes are 30mm tubes.
