Whether you're at the range or using your AR for home defense, the basic Geissele SSA fits the bill. The two stage trigger has a consistent feel and easy release for target work but not so light that it might present a problem when used in a stressful situation. Bill Geissele has a fantastic YouTube video that makes the installation a breeze. It's an old video but does the job perfectly with easy explanations and useful tips.

Vortex Spitfire HD Gen II 5x Prism Scope
Amazing optic. Definitely much lighter than the Gen 1. The optional mount lets you use this on a variety of weapons. I haven't found the perfect red dot for the mount above the optic but there are a number that can easily mount on this optic for a X1 option.

Ease of installation was amazing. Installs with no gap between it and the slide. Solid mount and still able to see the pistol sights with co-witness relief cut. Clear, bright dot.

Leupold STD 1PC 1-Piece Bases
I was concerned because Savage has two different shapes that they[ve used for the rear of the receiver. Mine has the flat shape and, according to the Leupold web site, requires P/N 52317. Optics Planet showed the part number I needed but the picture showed a mount with the curved rear portion. After calling, Optics Planet assured me that the part number was correct and it was the picture that was wrong. Ordered P/N 52317 and, as explained, got the correct part. It fits perfectly, solid as a rock! Comes with the mounting screws and tool.
