I recently purchased the vaunted POF Revolution in .308, and by the way, a fantastic rifle. One of POF's claims was the recoil mitigation and muzzle flip reduction with their 3-port break. Well, it performed as advertised, but under the bench roof cover, at my range, the sound blast aimed back at me and to each side was intense! So, with ringing ears (even using ear-muffs) I looked for a good linear comp to direct that blast downrange and away, and it does just that.
Until I finally install a can, (with the 7-month ATF wait time) this is a great alternative, and it saves my ears. The Helios-K has a very fine finish on its titanium construction. As others have mentioned, very easy to install and tune.
Very well built. Nothing cheap about it. The reticle is very bright at full. There is some distortion at 1X magnification, but not a big deal. Easy to operate. The mag ring tension is perfect. The mount is also really well made. My one criticism is the thickness of the diamond. At longer range (300 max for me) the diamond tends to obscure the target a bit. Other than that I recommend the Atibal XP8.
A real beast to install on my M&P 15 Sport 2. I did it but it was very tough to do. Not nearly as it easy as the YouTube videos suggest. Really a 2-person job. No Mlok slots at the 12 o'clock position. The Afg-1 works great with it. To get a weapon light to work I had to install a Fab Defense Bsr-1 barrel attachment, which works great for a thumb tail switch light operation, so that your not all crunched up.
Great glass. Clear without any noticeable distortion. The reticle is a bit thick and the illumination just washes the entire reticle as well as the inside of the tube. I run this with a 45° offset red dot for cqb shooting so no prblem. I love the 3-9 magnification.for those longer shots. The magnigivation rimg turns like butter. The scope is lightweight.
Tightening the QD tension - no instructions or tools to do so. Should not have to use a socket wrench to tighten, which I did. If there is another way I'd like to know. Very difficult to turn the QD assembly nuts.
I bought these sights for my ruger security 9, which was advertised as the correct sights to buy.. The YouTube videos did say the sights would be tight. What a phenominal understatement! I sanded. I oiled. I tried tapping them in with a nylon punch. Then I tried a sight pusher tool. Nothing. They will not budge. Conclusion...wrong sights for my pistol. If you're condidering these sights for your Ruget do a 180 and walk away, figuratively speaking.
