Good spare or starter binoculars

I purchased A211 8x42 as a spare pair for recent trip to Santa Barbara Channel Islands Nat'l. Park. They did not disappoint: color clarity, ease of use, field view was very good for "budget" optics. I was able to use them well over choppy sea and on land and never experienced fatigue.
While they do not have the performance of mid-price or higher binos they provide a good steady view and the solid handful and color clarity of porro prism glasses. Optics Planet offers both black and "Realtree" green camo, which I chose. They make a very good addition to knapsack or to stow in auto for a quick view!
