The good and the bad

Ordered two units over two days at $55/each. One was DOA, yes the battery was good and polarity correct, that one is being returned for an exchange. The second is a great unit so far...bright and crisp laser beam.
Some thoughts re mounting. Per the instructions mate the rear "tab" and then put pressure on the front halves. My addition consists of maintaining the recommended pressure when you first install the two mounting screws to relieve the pressure on the screws (yes steel screws into plastic) then most importantly "seat the laser" with gentle pushing and rubber mallet light hits to create a stable and secure position. Then do final mounting screw tightening and align the laser.
After 100+ rounds stable and accurate at 75 feet.

Handall Hybrid grip fit and function

Typical Hogue finger groove style which are functional and allow better firearm control. Sleeve style is tight and a bit of a PITA to install. I used a curved metal spoon handle as a "tire iron" lever to gently stretch the rubber grip and walk it into place. Once installed excellent as is usual for Hogue grips.

The Cobra version has a wonderful cheek "pad" that is great for target ARs. Much like the Leapers UTG PRO Model 4 Combat Ops S1 but in a smaller overall package. The fit to the buffer tube supplied is much better than most, including the Alpha, but still with a little "rattle" when fully extended. The Alpha is really a smaller version with the same quality.
One tip to install the stock (Alpha as well) is to wrap some 1/8" braided nylon cord over the transverse pins, making a two looped saddle, to pull the lever down enought without chewing up your fingers or finger nails. The adjustment spring is darn right stiff!
