Good, but wanted Grippier

Written on Mar 04, 2025

These are made by Hogue which means they're made very well. I tried these out on a P229 Elite for a short while and loved how they fit my hand but for the size and weight of the pistol I wanted something which would stick to my palms a little better. They've since been replaced by the Piranha textured version of the same grip which gets the job done.

If you plan on concealed carry these inverse checkered grips will probably agree with you a lot more than the Piranha, though at that point I would think traditional checkering would have better traction than this inverted style. Still much better than the pre-E2 hard plastic factory grip panels though. On a 1-5 I'd place these around a 2-3 for texturing. Ordered mine in the later part of 2024 and got "Rev A" marked grips.

Just Right

Written on Feb 11, 2025

These grips offer the perfect amount of traction, I like them so much that I run the Piranha texture on a pair of P226 and a P229. The only con is there can be some sharper edges around where the screw holes are but a small file will easily smooth things out. Even shooting with just my off hand these grips kept my 226 firmly in place and gave me a ton of confidence, not to mention incredible shot placement.

As of Feb 2025 these grips come cut for the newest style of Sig frame which has a pair of "hooks" at the bottom of the mag well, I believe they are meant for mag funnels. When I found out the newest P226 wouldn't take an older set of G10 grips I took a chance on these and they went right on. They should still be fine for earlier generations of 226, as well.

Universally Useless

Written on Dec 29, 2023

Terribly cheap construction, a very limited use flip-up rear aperture, exposed nuts and bolts all around, not enough rail space for most red dots, too small and sharply angled to use as a carry handle, and only locks into a Picatinny rail via one small rounded metal peg and two of the flimsiest QD levers I've ever seen.

Cheap components are often easy to spot and with this one I could tell simply from looking at the pictures. Having one in hand proves just how bad it is. Consider the one star here toward it being a unique looking accessory which had to have been intentional as it would have never sold otherwise.

I got one of these from a friend, didn't pay a cent and still feel like I got ripped off. Save yourself, forget this item exists.
