Vortex is the best.

Written on Jan 24, 2020

I bought sight mark ultra shot and honestly hate it. I consider myself ok at shooting and for the life of my couldn't get it to zero in. I later bought a vortex for my Beowulf and from that point forward, I refuse to deal with anything else. Their optics are clearer and hold my zero. For the sale they have on both the StrikeFire and magnifier, the price is worth it. It does make the rifle a bit heavier, but it's expected. (not a con) I also love being able to change my red dot to a green dot. Depending on the target i'm shooting, changing the colors takes the strain off my eye to see where my dot is. My only issue is the flip mount. I have to grip the whole optic and push the button down to get it out of the way. Very stiff making the transition not smooth. Whereas my last flip mount I push down and slide it to the side. Maybe I just got break it in, or find a way to adjust the stiffness. I say the con is half a star, but sadly there's no half star option. Still worth it overall.

It's a must get!

I ran into Manticore arms when I bought my .50 Beowulf. I didn't realize how amazing this hand guard was until I was talking to my gun seller about it. He was awed about how the hand guard simplified M-loks and key mod usage. He mentioned to me how it can be complicated to add things to both M-lok and key mods. This hand guard makes it easier to remove the panels and add what you want to the rails. Got a mixture of stuff that is M-lok and key mod? Your hand guard can have the best of both worlds. If you got nothing to add to the panel then you can just add grips. I personally like the frag panel, but that brings me to my next point. The panels that come with this are snake pattern grip. The picture made the panels look like they had no grip so i bought some frag panels. (I later zoomed in on the photo and saw the snake pattern.) I actually ended up not using the frag panel as I liked the look of the snake pattern. Frag panel has a better grip in my opinion, but the snake panel is good enough to handle. From me using this hand guard on my Beowulf, I wanted this on my other AR-15. I almost bought a whole new upper from Alexander Arms, but later found this. I got it installed on my AR now (wish I could show pictures) and shot it yesterday. Not disappointed at all. Last thing I want to mention is how it's slim. My last hand guard was too much for my mothers small hands, so when I got her an AR, I got one with Manticore's hand guard. My mother says she able to h
