Franklin Armory G-S173 Pistol Trigger

Written on Sep 25, 2025

Keeping in mind this was an open box purchase, I ran into a small issue that was my fault during the installation, of the trigger, as it came apart, because of the attached rubber band that fell apart, although I followed the video online for reassembling the trigger I did not pay close attention as I should have as once fully assembled it did not function with the slide on, I called Franklin Armory support and the technician gave me the issue and fix, being that the trigger bar tension spring, not being in the correct position, note if it is not and the slide is on you will not be able to remove the slide normally, but have to remove the backplate on the slide (same as OEM Glock backplate remove), this will allow you to get to the trigger and make sure it is in from of the trigger bar and not behind it, as the video will display, once corrected it worked as advertised, note follow the installation video "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57avbn-KiCs", near the end of the video if covers the proper reassembly of the trigger, the slide is the easiest to install but still review the video as after proper assembly it does not install on the lower as a OEM Glock because of the trigger, follow the video, review it first. Also make sure the lower is an OEM Glock 17 and not a Polymer 80 as the rails are different, also it states in the instructions as well as Franklin website to use an OEM Glock lower. Once assembled properly go through the various function checks to make sure it func

Order #29534284 Franklin Armory G-S173

Written on Sep 17, 2025

Received the product today, understanding it was an open Box model, the only issue was the trigger was not fully assembled, reviewed the Video online, and reassembled the trigger assembly, however I mad a small mistake, that caused the trigger not to function, and could not remove the slide via normal Glock procedures, to resolve this issue I called Franklin Armory spoke to one of their representatives, noted the issue and they provided me with the proper fix, the issue was the trigger bar torsion spring was not in front of the trigger bar but the rear, my error when reassembling the unit, I had to remove the back plate then pulled up the rear of the trigger and corrected the issue, tested it and it worked as advertised. So if you purchase one that is used or new and the trigger assembly fell apart follow the instruction Franklin Armory video, if you cannot find it contact Franklin Armory and they can assist you, they were very helpful and polite, now I can field test it.

Order #28324575 Strike Industries PDW 2 position Stabilizer brace

Written on Jan 24, 2025

Installed the device on my AR15 pistol (5.56/223), 7.5 inch barrel with franklin armories binary trigger, after function tested it worked well, did not apply blue Loctite, until testing on the range, Today 01/24/2025 headed to the range to test fire, no issues with ejection or feeding, ran like a champ, just a note not every device fits everyone's needs or purpose, however this met mine, makes my pistol more compact and easy to maneuver, the only issue I had was the castle nut became loose, but this was expected as they indicated to apply blue Loctite and torque, did that after I came in from the range. Again it fits my needs and application, I had no issue getting to the safety level, great addition to any AR Pistol, plus the cheek rest makes shooting better, keep in mind it is only a two position brace, fully extended or fully retracted, as mentioned earlier it was easy to install, but if you are not familiar with firearms take it to a gun-smith especially if you do not have the correct tools to remove the old buffer assembly and forget there are springs one that is sealed by the endplate that keeps the detent pin in place for the rear pen, and the buffer retainer pin, even for those that have done these type of things before order a spring kit incase you have an issue where the springs rocket across the room and end up in the phantom zone and found later in the year after house cleaning, again the assemble is easy just adhere to the instructions.

Order #28324575 Strike Industries PDW 2 position Stabilizer brace

Received the brace today, did the install, had no issues did a function test also no issues, the installation was easy, and went without any issues, all I needed was my armorer's tool, however did not apply any blue Loctite as recommended as I need to do a range test for operational functionality, makes the AR pistol more compact, had no issues seeing out of my optic the length of pull was perfect did not have to adjust my LPVO scope. I will do a part two of this evaluation once I return from the range, but so far it is sturdy and functions as advertised.

Flash hider

Works well with the Griffin QD Blast shield Gen 2, this is NATO/Mil-spec, at first I assumed it was the wrong one, but today I sat down took my time followed the installation instructions, then attached the QD blaster per the instructions and it fits as advertised, it will work with the griffin flash hider as well as the mil-spec A2 Flash hider, as long as you follow the directions, you do not have to dremel the device at all as one YouTuber illustrated, to make the Blast shield fit the A2 Bird cage, if you have problems consult a qualified gunsmith I'm not but through patients installed it without issues, remember not everyone on social media are skilled with installation/evaluating products take everything you view on Social Media with a grain of salt.

All I can say is it beats sweeping up spent casing while shooting, sturdy for the price.

Hearing protection,

Great additional item to protect your hearing, I would recommend getting these to wear by themselves or with the standard hearing muffs, will save your hearing.
