Excellent Craftsmanship

Written on Jan 24, 2022

Well made boot. Hardware is excellent with swivel eyelets. Required little break in as flex paneIs are part of the boot design. I purchased a 10 Wide and found it to be true to size with a generous toe box. Lots of toe wiggle room. I was happy to find I could wear a number of liner and merino wool sock combinations simply by adjusting the laces. The boot fit can be substantially tweaked with the lacing system. With a medium heavy weight merino wool and liner sock combination, I found these boots to be comfortable in the low 20 degree range. I have always found the non-insulated boots are far more comfortable and with the right socks this boot takes you into the temperature range where an insulated boot would usually be chosen. The boot is slightly stiffer above the ankle than most of the typical boots found at Bass Pro or Cabelas, but is not too rigid by any means. The design of this boot is to provide extra support on uneven ground and when carrying loads. If you have not worn a higher quality boot, you will initially notice the firmness in your calf muscles as there is slightly less flex. When on steep terrain the firmness is an asset. My only complaint is the boot tread can hold certain types of sticky mud but otherwise provides great traction. However, my mud boots have a very shallow tread and would not be the best in other conditions. If you enjoy the outdoors and encounter tough terrain, this boot will not disappoint you. If you don't encounter tough terrain ,you will
