Great value for the price - 10 years and still working!

Let me preface this by admitting that I don't have a ton of experience with all the latest and greatest red dot technology, and I have never installed EOTechs on any of my rifles. That said, I don't understand why civilians pay hundreds of dollars for high-performance "ultra-durable" red dots that will allegedly perform better under "sustained combat conditions" which 99.9% of users will NEVER experience, when the same functionality can be purchased for only $60. This Truglo was my first reflex/red dot sight, mounted on my first AR (MP15) in 2008 (different model # back then but identical design). I shot 2-3 inch groups at 100 yards when it was new, and fast-forward 10 years and thousands of rounds later and its still holding zero! I have not adjusted it once during that time, and still perfect co-witness with my FUIS. Battery seems to last forever - I have only replaced it twice in 10 years and both times was due to my mistakenly leaving the sight activated in storage. I did lose the dust cover years ago but the glass is still in great shape, although the reticles have gotten a little blurry and probably not very useful for target shooting over 50 yards unless using the rear sight aperture (which will eliminate most of the distortion in the reticle from the imperfections in the glass and sharpen the image for longer distance prone target shooting).
